But first, on our way to the garden, we stopped in at the Vivarium, a herpetological research and education center. Basically a snake and reptile house. It was cool, though small, but we did get to hold a Boa Constrictor, which made it well worth the $3 entrance fee!
From there we headed off to the Botanical Gardens of Quito. It was a cool exhibit located right in the middle of Parque Carolina, which is a huge beautiful park right in the middle of the city. I took this photo from the Gardens looking out towards the mountain (this is in the center of the city!):
